UTMB Verbier Marathon race vlog Switzerland

I Participated on July 7th in my second UTMB world series event.
This time i participated in the UTMB Verbier Marathon in the Swiss Alps!
The race was 42Km with 3000 meters of elevation.
The highest point that we would reach was 3080 meters!

First of all, i never did any run with such high amount of elevation meters and also never went up this high either.
As you can imagine, the race wasn’t easy, the pace was really slow and sometimes i had the impression being on a hike than being on a trail run.
But the landscapes in Switzerland were absolutely amazing so i’m not going to complain 🙂

At the start the temperatures were around 18 degrees Celsius.
On top of the highest mountain, the temperatures were around 10 degrees Celsius.
And yes there was snow in the mountains!
When we came back down, the temperatures went up pretty quickly.
The temperatures went up to about 26 degrees Celsius.
Which caused some dehydration for a lot of us, especially near the end.

I reached the finish line in 10h15:33 That’s a very long time for running a marathon, but if you look at the video, you will quickly notice that it wasn’t easy at all!
