My RUNNING warm-up routine – Ultra Training EP3

Episode 3 of my 10 weeks ultra training.

In this episode i take you along a fartlek interval run, which is done in trail style!

Before i start the workout i show you my 4 drills that i do as a staple in my training, after the drills i do a couple of strides.

If you wonder why i do a fartlek interval on trails, well i need to train more with elevation differences.

If i don’t train with elevation differences, i will suffer really bad during my 50K Ultra.

If you check out my Strava profile, you will quickly notice that i do a good amount of elevation in my training.

My calves and hamstrings don’t always like me for it.

I’m suffering from tightness in my legs since i started my Ultra training.

But even with that tightness, i bite through as i know my body needs some time to adjust to my new way of training.

I did previously an 18 weeks marathon training program and that is completely different!

After my run i briefly explain how i do my Zwift bike sessions and i also explain why the seat of my bike is so low.

At the end of each day, when all my trainings are done, i take a protein shake and a banana.

The protein powder that i use is PBN, it’s a brand from Amazon with a very good price/quality, it seems that it recently got rebranded to AMFIT.

It’s around 35 euros for a tub of 2,27Kg, not bad if you ask me.

There are a couple of different flavours available, i personally have only tested chocolate and vanilla for the moment.

If you would like to check the AMFIT (previously PBN) protein powder out yourself, here are links to the products :

The chocolate variant for 2,27Kg chocolate is currently not available.
