Elevation workout BACK-to-BACK – Ultra training EP10

Episode 10 of my 10 weeks ultra training.

In this video the plan was to take you along my long run which was also going to serve as my elevation workout session.
The run was supposed to be 2h30 minutes with an elevation of +500 meters.
This did not go completely as planned…

I completed 2 hours on Saturday and added the missing 30 minutes to my easy run on Sunday.
Because of this change i decided to do a BACK-to-BACK elevation workout.

It started to rain near the end of my second lap and i could hear thunderstorms closing in.

On my run on Saturday i noticed that there was a running race in the neighbourhood, if i would have known up front i would have participated.

Also on Saturday i encountered again chest pain as previously.
It was again at the right side, and i’m still thinking it could be the chest heart rate monitor.
When lowering it again, it got better after a while, but it could also have been a coincidence…
If anybody has any advise about this, let me know.
I only get this discomfort on longer runs, on short runs this never is an issue.

The easy run on Sunday also became elevation training, adding more than +400 meters.

These runs were done in the Netherlands where we stayed in a small holiday park to enjoy some peace and quite.

In the end during these 2 days i did a total of +900 meters of elevation.
Which was a nice preparation for my upcoming UTMB world event in France on May 21st.

As previously mentioned, i share additional information either in the description of my videos, through shorts or on Instagram.
