2 MARATHONS in 2 WEEKS – Number 1 – Ultra training EP7

Episode 7 of my 10 weeks ultra training.

We are in the 4th week of my training program and things are getting serious!

I’ve put myself to the challenge in running 2 trail marathons in 2 weeks…

You might wonder, why would you do that, since you only have ran one single marathon at the end of March?
Well i wanted to use this opportunity to test again my nutrition, my equipment, endurance, and i also wanted to see how my body would react if i add some elevation differences to it.

This first marathon was not a race, i’ve ran this in the Sonian forest near Brussels.
It’s the exact same course as the Marathon Zoniënwoud that was organised a couple of weeks ago.
But as you can imagine, all the route signs are taken away, so i took a wrong turn on occasions..

In the video i tell you how much elevation differences and Km’s i did more than foreseen.

I was also running with a new pair of trail running shoes that i started breaking in earlier in the week.
Overall it’s a great shoe but i’ve got some issues with that, check out my channel as i will post a first impressions video about it soon!

Still also experimenting with eating solid food, this time i’m not eating it while running (to avoid that i need to leave something in the woods again).

The second marathon will be a race, but i’m not going to go into overdrive, i’m learning my body to handle more longer distance runs and higher elevations.
This is all just training for my ultra of 50K that will have 1500+ meters of elevation difference.

As previously mentioned, i share additional information either in the description of my videos, through shorts or on Instagram.
